Who was raised in Tuke, the officer of Siad Barre who was listed as the reason?

A former Somali army officer named Yusuf Abdi Ali is being investigated in the United States for torture and other abuses he is said to have committed in the 1980s during the government of Siad Barre.

Three years ago, an American jury convicted Ali of torturing a young boy in 1987 – which he denied.

During the Siad Barre government in the 1980s, it was said that human rights violations were taking place in Somalia. Yusuf Abdi Ali was the head of a famous army brigade.

Years after he fled the state, allegations of abuse are mounting again. In 1992 Ali was deported from Canada after documentary witnesses said he ordered multiple murders.

He got a job with the taxi company Uber in the United States.

Then in 2019 a civil court ordered him to pay a fine of half a million dollars after he was accused of torturing a teenager in 1987.

Now the man named Colonel Tukeh has been arrested as US investigators investigate widespread human rights violations including murder and torture.

So Who Is Colonel Crow?

Colonel Tuke was one of the officers of the Somali National Army under the government of Mohamed Siad Barre. The Colonel was one of the officers who received good training in the United States according to his lawyer Joseph Peter.

He was the commander of the fifth brigade of the Somali military in the revolutionary government, and he was accused of being responsible for atrocities against humanity that he said he committed in the northern regions that are now called Somaliland.
