The International Committee of the Red Cross says the civilian casualties in Somalia have increased by 30 percent.
The aid agency recorded 57 mass casualty incidents related to armed conflict between January and October compared to 43 in 2021.
At least 2,113 people were injured, 197 more than the previous year.
The ICRC casualty figures come after Somali security forces ended a 20-hour terrorist siege in Mogadishu’s Villa Rosa hotel on Monday, killing all five attackers.. 15 people killed in the attack.
A twin car bomb attack in Mogadishu last month killed at least 120 people and injured over 300 more.
In recent weeks the Somali government has launched a military operation targeting the militant group Al-Shabaab on the battlefield.
The Horn of African nation has been plagued with insecurity since the collapse of the central government in 1991.
