PRESIDENT HASSAN SHEIK HAS MEETED WITH THE PRESIDENTS OF UGANDA AND KENYA.

Washington DC, December 15, 2022; The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who is participating in the African-American Cooperation Forum, held a meeting with his Ugandan counterpart Mr. Yoweri Museveni and Mr. William Ruto of Kenya.

The President shared with the Presidents of Uganda and Kenya the situation in the country and the war against terrorism, noting the effective achievements of the Somali Army in helping the communities in the areas where Al-Shabaab terrorists are hiding.

For their part, the Presidents of Uganda and Kenya praised the operations to liberate the Middle Shabelle and Hiraan regions, which showed the ability and power of the government and the Somali people to eradicate terrorism, and reinforced their continued support for the Somali government.

Also, President Yoweri Museveni and President William Ruto have strengthened the historical relations of their countries with Somalia and its role in the stability of the region, and noted the importance of the implementation of the plans presented at the African-American Cooperation Forum, while the Somali government delivered its plans on climate change, good government, stability on the African continent, emergency response and the fight against terrorism.
